This form of packing was pretty common in the days before the Cuban embargo. We’ve brought it back, but with a little wrinkle. The old Amatista Jars were heavy glass things that needed a bunch of protective packing around them to make sure they made it to your home in one piece. The breakage, the weight, the packing material, and the jars themselves would have made it impossible to sell you the cigars at the same price as the regular J•R discount... and the idea was to sell them for less! So these Amatista Jars are made out of genuine plastic! As a result, every brand packed in these jars is a hell of a bargain.
