PLEIADES RESERVE PRIVEE
WRAPPER: Ecuador Connecticut BINDER: Nicaragua FILLER: Dominican Republic/Nicaragua

Here is something super-special from the mega-purchase we made from the Paris warehouse of Logista, the official distributor of all Havana cigars in France, Spain, Italy, and a host of other European and Middle Eastern countries. This is a one-of-a-kind cigar that I was shocked to find out even existed anymore (I was shocked because I was actually a one-third partner in the factory that produced these cigars way back in the 1990s). We were contracted to make a super-premium version of Pléiades, which at the time were probably the equivalent to what the Opus X is today—expensive and damned near impossible to find!
We would make sensational-looking cigars and send them to France in bulk. Then the French would reinspect and select the cigars for this Reserve Privee line and pack them uncellophaned in special boxes that were made in Holland and contained a Credo humidifying device that was engineered to keep the cigars at a constant 70% relative humidity. Even though we shipped them absolutely gorgeous cigars, I know for a fact that more than half of them were put into the regular Pléiades line (which was still a stratospherically priced cigar at the time).
These cigars were priced at 14 euros in 1995 (maybe 17 bucks American) and came packed in a box of 16 cigars measuring 8 x 46. Our price for these one-of-a-kind cigars is $139—exactly half the price (converted to US dollars) that the cigars sold for 15 years ago! And you will be damned lucky to score one at that price!
